GfK MRI's Survey of the American Consumer™ has been accredited by the Media Rating Council (MRC) since 1998.
 
The Media Rating Council is a non-profit industry association that promotes valid and effective measurement services. Established in 1964 at the urging of the U.S. Congress, MRC's membership includes leading television and radio broadcasters, print organizations, advertisers, Internet companies, advertising agencies and industry trade associations.
 
The MRC charter is to maintain audience research confidence and credibility. Measurement services that have been accredited by MRC are required to…
  • Disclose to their customers all methodological aspects of their service.
  • Comply with MRC's “Minimum Standards for Media Rating Research.”
  • Submit to and pay for MRC-designed audits to authenticate and illuminate their procedures.
